Authors Note: I have wrote about this
story before, and this time I want to put myself in the point of view of the
old man with the Golden Hook.
Losing his
arm that day was tragic, but the little boy was able to get a hook, but then
later ended up getting a solid gold, hook going halfway up his arm. At first
the man had trouble trying to cope with his arm gone, and having a heavy gold
arm. It helped because he worked outside a lot with wood.
While he was
going to town that day to get supplies, he noticed everyone staring at him, and
pointing. No one could believe he had a gold hook! He felt proud of himself,
and felt good inside. He went into the store, and feeling good he god an apple
for himself, along with oil and grain and other food items.
While he was
living, he was getting weaker, and getting older. He noticed changes in
himself, so he had to find someone to trust. Now that he has someone drop his
food off instead of going into town because people have tried to rob him-tried.
The young man that dropped his food off, that’s who he can trust.
Meeting him
the next day, the old man asked the boy to make him a promise. The boy promised
to bury the man with his golden hook. After he promised, he thought about it
until he went to the man’s house, he was about to die. The man had begun to
trust the boy, and died with happiness, and went to heaven--only to witness
that the boy kept the hook.
